GMentor
AI Agent for your games
Free · Open-source · Windows 11

Capture your screen with GMentor. Get helpful AI guidance in return.

GMentor is a small Windows app for gamers: you press a hotkey, your screen dims, you drag a rectangle over the part of the game you care about, and Gemini returns short, game-aware tips for quests, weapons, loot and keys. Nothing outside that box is captured or sent.

Uses your own Gemini API key
Only the box you draw is captured

Example: draw a box over a loot card and GMentor turns it into a short, search-backed explanation.

How it works

Everything happens locally on your PC. No overlays, no injection, no full-screen capture.

1

Download & first run

Download the ZIP and extract it. On first start, Windows SmartScreen may warn because the app is new and self-signed – click "More info" → "Run anyway". The setup window will open; paste your Gemini API key, click Test, then Continue.

2

Press a hotkey and draw a box

In-game, press a shortcut: your screen dims, your cursor becomes a crosshair, and you click-drag to select exactly what you want the AI to see.

3

Get concise tips

GMentor screenshots only that rectangle, sends it with a tuned prompt to Gemini, and shows the answer in a clean panel.

Why Gemini and why open-source?

Gemini has a usable free tier, strong screenshot understanding, and built-in web search. GMentor just builds prompts and sends your crop directly to Google from your PC.

Your key stays local. Stored via Windows DPAPI, never sent to GMentor servers.
Only the crop you select is sent. If you don't draw over it, GMentor never sees it.
Open-source. You can inspect the code, build your own binaries, or fork and extend.
Pack-based. First tuned pack targets Arc Raiders; generic prompts still work elsewhere.
